TRAVIS MCGAUGHEY was born in West Texas in 1978. He graduated from Midwestern State University where he received a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to graduate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned an M.A. in Christian Education. A student pastor by profession, Travis is an archaeologist by avocation. The Medicine Tree is his first book. He and his family reside in Parker County, TX.
