MAGGIE FOSTER is a seventh-generation Texan of Scottish descent. (Her ancestors were in Texas before it was a Republic.) She has traveled extensively in the U.S., Canada, and Scotland, gathering material for her novels. The idea for the Loch Lonach series was born when she visited the Lonach Games in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on a Clan Forbes tour.

• Maggie earned a high school athletic letter in Highland Dancing, in Dallas, Texas.

• She is a certificated RSCDS Scottish Country Dance instructor. 

• Her hobbies include genealogy, singing, dancing, dark chocolate, good whisky, and men in kilts.
