Texas Authors Institute of History

A Unique Museum that saves history, inspires the future, depth and gives to the present..

Alexandria "A.M." Vaňková grew up in Deep East Texas, somewhere between the pine trees and the Louisiana Border. During college, she split her time between psychology classes and working at her uncle’s crawfish business—both, in their own way, studies in human behavior.

Now based just outside Austin, she’s working toward her PhD in Psychology while writing the All Hungry Gods Wear Red series—Southern Gothic thrillers about power, obsession, and the beautiful mess between justice and guilt. When she’s not writing, Alexandria is usually in the kitchen testing new recipes (and documenting her sourdough disasters), knitting something half-finished, or quoting The Phantom of the Opera with her brother like it’s still 2003.

She also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, has an unshakable karaoke loyalty to Gimme Three Steps, and firmly believes that her dad’s gumbo could solve most of life’s moral crises—at least the small ones.
