Pat (P.L.) Blair was born and grew up in Tyler, Texas, then moved down to the Corpus Christi in the mid 1970s. Around 1986, she moved to Sheridan, WY, where she lived for 30-plus years before deciding it was time to "come home." (Note: You can take the gal out of Texas, but you can't teke Texas out of the gal.) She's lived with her "Texas sisters" in Rockport since 2021. Blair started her urban fantasy/detective book series (Portals) while she lived in Wyoming, but the series has always been set in the Corpus Christi area.

A graduate of Tyler Junior College and Texas Woman's University, Blair worked for most of her life as a reporter for newspapers and, later in Sheridan, a media outlet that consisted of 10 radio stations and a website. But her passion was always for writing fantasy. Now retired from the reporter's life, she has six books published, completed a seventh this year and is now working on Book 8 in her series.
