Award-winning writer, Shelly-Ann Harris has written books, plays, short stories, articles and poetry for adults and children. She is also the editorial director and founder of Family and Faith Magazine. Her children's book, We Don't Hate Mondays Anymore was recently released with positive reviews by children.

 

 Her poetry has been published in the Caribbean Writer and in the literary sections of the Jamaica Observer and the Jamaica Gleaner for several years, which at different times were coordinated and edited by the late Wayne Brown. A winner of several writing competitions, Shelly-Ann was the Red Bones Poet of the Year in Jamaica, in 2008; third-place winner in the International Society of Poets Competition Las Vegas, 2007 and award recipient in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's Creative Writing Competition for her recent play "Extradition Request."

 

 Shelly-Ann has appeared on various radio and television programmes in Jamaica including Lyrically Speaking, produced by the Creative Production and Training Centre, Word Power produced by the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica, Jamaica Magazine, produced by the Jamaica Information Service and Beyond the Headlines on RJR 94.5 FM In Jamaica.

 

 A Jamaican with a world outlook, Shelly-Ann is sensitive to women's issues, children, family issues, Jamaican history and culture, relationships and matters of the spirt
