I wrote it because my father, Peter Troost, saved all the letters I wrote home to the family when I studied abroad at the University of Fridbourg in Switzerland and summer at the University of Oslo in Norway in 1959/60. The historical value is to show the world what life was like at that time and the value of travel to Europe to study.
