SABA HUSAIN is a Pakistani-American poet. Her work can be read in literary journals and anthologies including Barrow Street, Cimarron Review, On the Seawall, Arc Poetry, The Shore, Bellevue Review, Bangalore Review, The Aleph Review, Natural Bridge, Texas Review, Dallas Review, Sequestrum, Synkroniciti, The Southern Poetry Anthology, and elsewhere, and forthcoming in Third Coast and Puerto del Sol. 

Her awards include finalist for the 2023 Perugia Press Poetry Prize, and finalist for the 2021 and 2020 X.J. Kennedy Poetry Prize. She was the winner of the 2022 Spring Equinox Hot Poet Poetry Contest, and the 2020 Editor’s Choice Award from Lamar university Press and the Center for Culture and Learning of Southeast Texas and the Upper Gulf Coast, a finalist for the 2014 New Letters Poetry Prize, and received the 2014 Lorene Pouncey Award at Houston Poetry Fest. 

Saba holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Writing from University of Houston. She works a day job and has served on the board of Mutabilis Press since 2019.

Elegy for my Tongueby Terrapin Books, is her first full length poetry collection.
