James E. Doucette was raised in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York joined the U.S. Navy in 1957 completed high school and college at night. Worked for several telecommunications company until 1983. Founded Cablevision of Texas in 1984, constructed or purchased over four hundred cable television systems, purchased a telephone installation company and a home security service. The businesses served over one hundred thousand customers in thirteen states.
In 1990, purchased the First National Bank of Lockney and during the next eight years, added four additional banks. Began selling his businesses in 1998 and retired in 1999.
Jim and his wife, Denise, live on a ranch in Floyd County, Texas and raise Longhorn cattle and write. They have been blessed with three sons, a daughter and four grandchildren. He wrote his first book, “The Not So Great American Novel,” a Memoir in 2015. In 2018 published his third book “The Last Assassination.”
