Patrick Allen Wright Author

Patrick Allen Wright was born in Beaumont, Texas, raised in the Big Thicket, and schooled in Sour Lake and Nederland. He spent nearly three years in Asia during the Vietnam Era for the U.S. Army. Patrick graduated with an M.A. in English from Lamar University in 1984 with forty-five publications, ten awards, and Lamar’s first creative Master’s thesis of poems. He achieved his Texas teacher certifications while attending Texas A&M University, College Station. He then earned his Texas educator’s mid-management certificate at The University of Texas—Pan American, Edinburg. In the main, Patrick’s life has been spent in schools as student, teacher, or administrator. In 2007 Patrick made a two-and-a-half year spiritual sojourn to South Korea to teach English and to learn more about Buddhism, visiting over thirty temples, most nestled into or atop mountains. Returning to Texas in late 2009, he now lives in Silsbee and travels Texas and Louisiana.
