Starting from Scratch: Cooking and Entertaining Made Simple is the culmination of Merle Rosenbloom's journey toward being an excellent cook and entertainer. Her husband, Brian, to whom she has been married to since she was 19 yrs. old, is her biggest cheerleader, but early on he used to affectionally joke that she had 'burnt the salad.' Balancing a full work schedule in an attorney's office along with enrolling herself in as many cooking classes as she could find, Merle found that her Cuisinart was soon her best friend. For the first time in her life, she was embracing the uncomfortable: cooking for others.

She evolved into a person who spent weekends hosting dinner parties that were known for their beautiful table’s capes and delicious food.

Fast forward several years later, a friend asked her to host a cooking class for a group of newlyweds. She obliged and continued teaching those lessons for years.

Her cookbook began as a simple collection of favorite recipes, bound in a book for her daughter-in-law as a bridal shower gift. The requests for copies poured in which was the catalyst for publishing a copy that many others could enjoy and use as a tool.

We hope you simply savor Merle’s presentation Starting from Scratch.
