Carol Folbre is a San Antonio native living in the Texas Hill Country with over 20 years of experience as an educator, writer, and artist. She is the author of Wishbone: An American Odyssey in Asia, published by Trinity University Press, an evocative memoir of her flight from the predictable norms of her community as a young married woman. This constant discovery of the new lured her around the world; then back to Texas to a new way of being. Her research interests include exploring life as a paradox, innovation beyond the familiar, Interfaith engagement, international balance reciprocity, and “stranger” hospitality across cultures.

Dr. Folbre values most the connection to others in honoring the dignity and worth of every person. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Principia College in Elsah, Illinois; a Master of Arts in English from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas; and a Doctor of Philosophy in English literature from the University of Sussex, Brighton, England.

Carol is working on her next book.
